使徒行传4：1-13

1使徒对百姓说话的时候，祭司们和守殿官，并撒都该人，忽然来了。
【niv】The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people.
2因他们教训百姓，本着耶稣，传说死人复活，就很烦恼；
【niv】They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.
3于是下手拿住他们，因为天已经晚了，就把他们押到第二天。
【niv】They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day.
4但听道之人有许多信的，男丁数目约到五千。
【niv】But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.
5第二天，官府、长老和文士，在耶路撒冷聚会，
【niv】The next day the rulers, elders and teachers of the law met in Jerusalem.
6又有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚力山大，并大祭司的亲族都在那里。
【niv】Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and the other men of the high priest's family.
7叫使徒站在当中，就问他们说:“你们用什么能力，奉谁的名，作这事呢?”
【niv】They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: 'By what power or what name did you do this?'
8那时，彼得被圣灵充满，对他们说:
【niv】Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: 'Rulers and elders of the people!
9“治民的官府和长老啊，倘若今日，因为在残疾人身上所行的善事，查问我们他是怎么得了痊愈；
【niv】If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed,
10你们众人和以色列百姓都当知道，站在你们面前的这人得痊愈，是因你们所钉十字架、 神叫他从死里复活的拿撒勒人耶稣基督的名。
【niv】then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
11他是你们匠人所弃的石头，已成了房角的头块石头。
【niv】He is '`the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. '
12除他以外，别无拯救；因为在天下人间，没有赐下别的名，我们可以靠着得救。”
【niv】Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.'
13他们见彼得、约翰的胆量，又看出他们原是没有学问的小民，就希奇，认明他们是跟过耶稣的；
【niv】When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
